conferences and symposia organised

Since 1998, I have been involved in organising conferences and symposia. In 2000, with Juli Ellis, I organised the 1st International Conference on Prospective Memory (ICPM) at the University of Hertfordshire. The success of this initial conference established a tradition of holding international  conferences on this topic in every 4-5 years. I was a member of Organising Committee of the 2nd ICPM in Zurich in 2005, and a Scientific Program Advisory Committee for the 4th ICPM in Naples in 2014. The 5th ICPM was held in Melbourne (Australia) in January 2018.

1st  International Conference on Prospective Memory

Was organised by Lia Kvavilashvili and Judi Ellis at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK on 17-19 July, 2000. There were more than 80 delegates from North America, Australia, Japan and Europe, including the former states of the Soviet Union. Keynote addresses were presented by such eminent researchers in the field as Paul Burgess, Gus Craik, Jason Hicks, Elizabeth Maylor, and Mark McDaniel. Selected presentations from this conference were published in a special issue of Applied Cognitive Psychology "New Perspectives in Prospective Memory". This includes the now classic paper by Mark McDaniel and Gil Einstein in which they presented their multiprocess model of prospective memory for the first time.
